Bhopal MP Alok Sanjar fined for helmet-less ride
Bhopal MP Alok Sanjar paid a fine of ₹250 and apologised for riding a motorcyle without wearing helmet at a rally here.
Mr. Sanjar was seen riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet on Monday, while participating in the “Ekatm Yatra”, a Statewide programme to collect metal for a 108-foot statue of Adi Shankaracharya to be installed at at Omkareshwar. Bhopal Central constituency MLA Surendra Nath Singh was with the MP.
The matter came to light when a resident WhatApped the MP’s photograph to Bhopal Traffic Police. “During Ekatm Yatra, I rode a motorcycle without wearing helmets on the request of party workers. I am sorry, will keep this in mind in future,” Mr. Sanjar tweeted after paying the fine.
