3 BJP leaders join Congress in MP
Bhopal, Three opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders – hailing from Ashoknagar District – entered ruling Congress ranks here on Tuesday with some supporters in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and erstwhile Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia at the party’s state headquarters.
The entrants were former legislators Jagannath Singh Raghuwanshi, Rajkumar Yadav and ex-district Congress president Malkit Singh Sandhu. Ashoknagar is a part of Mr Scindia’s parliamentary constituency Guna.
“The state dispensation is executing its work vis-a-vis law and order; the BJP leaders may continue to say what they wish in this regard. The predecessor regime called itself a protector of bovines but did not set up a single cowshed during its tenure. As per our manifesto, we shall create such facilities within six months,” Mr Nath told journalists on the occasion.
Welcoming the new members, Mr Scindia described them as grassroots leaders.
